Advent Worship

Join us for worship each Sunday this Advent, in-person or online: November 28, December 5, 12, & 19 @ 10:30a. Christmas Eve Worship, Friday, December 24 @ 4p.

Advent @ Home

We invite our congregation to find the hope and joy of Advent this season:

  • Gather weekly for worship on Sundays and Christmas Eve. Join us from home via YouTube or in-person at 10:30a. If you are joining us from home, light a candle, comment on the videos, share them with your friends, or you might gather for a worship watch party.
  • Set aside time each day for God, reflecting on the promises of the coming Christ-child. We are offering a daily Advent devotion by Sanctified Art. Sign up to receive these emails here, or pick up a paper copy at Church.
  • Give generously! God is not only abundant to us but provides abundant opportunities for us to share what we have been freely given. Perhaps you’ll give of your time by shoveling a neighbor’s driveway or church sidewalk. Maybe you’ll be generous with talents, making sweet treats to share with staff at a local care center, or reading for Advent Worship. Perhaps you’ll be generous with your finances, whether through a Christmas offering to our church or dropping coins in red buckets around town. You can make a commitment to write and say more thank yous and I love yous. There are many places in all our lives that need a touch of grace and forgiveness, and praise be to God, you are here to be generous with both.

Amidst all of the chaos in 2021, this remains: the Church’s mission is proclaiming the coming Christ. We hope you will participate, and come to find hope and joy this Advent,

Advent Study & Celebration

We invite you to find faith in the Grinch this Advent. This Advent study is one for ALL ages! Offered Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting November 30 & December 1. We will also gather for a movie and craft afternoon on Dec 5 -- you won't want to miss it!

Advent Study & Celebration

We are so excited to invite you -- yes YOU -- to an intergenerational Advent Celebration experience! We will be embarking on a journey through Matt Rawle's newest Advent study, The Heart that Grew Three Sizes, a faith-focused look at the classic Christmas story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Here are the options for participation:

  • Wednesdays in Advent starting Dec 1!
    • Gathering: 6:15-6:30p
    • Classes: 6:30-7:30p
    • Each week includes a SPECIAL theme for our gathering time:
      • 12/1 -- Ugly Christmas Sweater Night (show us your worst!)
      • 12/8 -- Homebound Package assembly (help us pack up gift bags for our homebound members!)
      • 12/15 -- Dress as your favorite Christmas Character & Advent Game Night (dress as Ralphy, Rudolph, Frosty, Buddy, etc., and play a quick game before study time begins!)
      • 12/22 -- Nativity Photo Booth (you know we've got the costume bin! Dress up as part of the nativity and snap a pic with us!)
    • Small groups available for nursery, kids (K-5th), youth (6th-12th), and adults. Sign up the whole family today!
    • Join the online Wednesday Advent Group for reminder emails!
  • Tuesday afternoons at 1p starting November 30! You choose how to participate:

Books will be ordered for adults who have signed up for the study by noon on Thursday, November 18. The children and youth will not need a study book, just energy and a sense of fun! We are so excited for the Advent season, and we hope you are too!

  • Movie & Craft Afternoon
    • Sunday, December 5 @ 1p
    • Keeping with the Grinch-y theme of our Advent Study, we will be watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, then making some fun crafts! EVERYONE is invited to join in the fun! The movie will start at 1p in the sanctuary, then we will get those creative juices flowing by making ornaments and cards. Make some for you and your family, and make a couple extra for our homebound members. We will use these to fill gift bags on December 8!

Daily Devotions

Spend each day of Advent (and into Epiphany too!) in reflection with a devotional from A Sanctified Art. This devotional will be available in a paper copy at the church, or you can sign up for daily devotion emails.

Quiet Christmas

Enjoy a time of peace, prayer, and reflection with a "Quiet Christmas" video curated by Pastor Bethany. Then spend an hour "sitting in the sanctuary" while listening to Christmas hymns with "Christmas in the Sanctuary."
